Released in 1979, Apocalypse Now became one of the defining films of its era, both for what appeared on screen and for the chaos behind the scenes. Its troubled production, psychological depth, and reinterpretation of Heart of Darkness captured the uncertainty and disillusionment of post-Vietnam America. More than a war film, it became a cultural landmark of 1970s cinema, reshaping how conflict, authority, and ambition were portrayed in modern filmmaking.
We chose to reinterpret this watch because it represents a rare intersection of tool-watch history and American cultural history. The stripped GMT from Apocalypse Now isn’t iconic because it was rare or complicated—it’s iconic because of context and character.
Unlike Brando’s GMT, where removing the bezel insert eliminated the external 24-hour reference and effectively compromised its second-time-zone function, we chose to preserve full GMT capability by integrating subtle 24-hour markers directly into the dial perimeter. The result keeps the stripped, minimalist aesthetic intact while restoring true dual-time functionality.
For the G2 Apocalypse, we developed a new case execution built around the fixed-bezel design. A radial-brushed steel bezel adds texture and contrast against polished surfaces, while newly integrated external crown guards provide both visual structure and added protection. Combined with our twisted lugs and slim profile, the case feels cohesive, balanced, and purpose-built.

Is the G2 Apocalypse cross compatible with my existing Vaer bracelets?
Yes, the G2 is cross-compatible with any existing Vaer metal bracelets. It is also compatible with all of our standard 20mm straps.
What is the price of the G2 Apocalypse?
We are still working on the final pricing structure of the G2 Apocalypse, but it will be priced somewhere between the G2 Quartz and the G5 Automatic. We're aiming for a starting price of under $500.
