The original Oceanracer combined the functionality of a sports chronograph with the durability of a dive watch. The Oceanracer II evolves that concept with a more focused sports-watch design, while retaining the water-ready construction and everyday durability that inspired the original.

A redesigned 42mm case, fixed ceramic tachymeter bezel, rectangular chronograph pushers, and multi-layer dial bring a new level of depth and refinement to the R1 collection. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces further elevate the Oceanracer II as our most premium meca-quartz chronograph to date.

Powered by the Seiko VK63 meca-quartz chronograph movement, the Oceanracer II combines quartz accuracy and reliability with the tactile operation and mechanical-style reset of a traditional chronograph.

Despite its more refined sports-chronograph design, the Oceanracer II is still built to Vaer standards. Sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, and 10 ATM water resistance make it ready for swimming, surfing, travel, and everyday wear.

Proudly assembled and regulated for accuracy in the USA, the R1 Oceanracer II combines precision engineering with local craftsmanship, delivering a timepiece that embodies both quality and durability.

“With the Oceanracer II, we wanted to take the classic sports chronograph and build it around the core principles that define Vaer: durability, water resistance, and everyday usability. The result combines the design language of iconic motorsport watches with the water-ready construction that has always defined the Oceanracer. It’s a more refined and mature expression of the original concept, built to perform just as well in the ocean as it does on land.”
