INSPIRATION: In designing the DS2 Meridian our goal was to pay homage to the history of military dive watches while also further establishing a distinct and modern Vaer aesthetic. This watch's dial design and bezel are inspired by Rolex and Doxa military divers from the 1970s - and the case is inspired by the military issue Omega Seamaster.
The DS2 Meridian Quartz features Vaer’s signature trapezoidal markers, complemented by BGW9 Super-LumiNova for exceptional nighttime visibility.

You can absolutely swim, surf, snorkel, scuba do anything else in-water with your Vaer watch. If you didn't know it already - ALL Vaer watches include a waterproof warranty. Which is our way of saying, if you can flood it, we'll replace it (as long as your crown is sealed and your within your 2 year warranty).

Please note, however, that our metal bracelets are custom-fit to each specific watch case due to the precision form-fit of the end-links (where the bracelet meets the case). These are not interchangeable with other watch models or third-party bracelets.

We came up with the name "Vaer" in the summer of 2016, about six months after starting the company. The name is our invention, created to be unique, easily identifiable, and meaningful—qualities that were critical for securing a trademark and building a recognizable brand.
While Vaer is deeply rooted in American identity, we also wanted a name with universal appeal that didn’t tie the brand to any specific nationality. Inspired by horology’s strong European heritage and our personal interest in 20th-century European modernist design, we drew inspiration from a variety of languages across the region.

"I’ve had the dive watch for 2 weeks. My wife thinks the green is gorgeous and masculine. I’m a retired Navy deep sea diver. I put your watch through the paces — open water swims, daily running, calisthenics. The watch is low weight and high visibility. It’s been a good hard use companion so far. The black rubber band holds close to the wrist without movement or chafing. Time keeping is spot on. This basic model is an incredible value. Let’s see where we are in a year."
"The DS2 Meridian is fantastic. Just remember it is a quartz so the second hand isn't likely to hit the indices on the dial. I was impressed that when I added the jubilee bracelet, I received it and both 18mm straps. Speaking of which, I was also happy that the lugs are 18mm. 18mm is the right ratio for a 36mm watch. While many people will say 36mm is too small, before the mid-1980s, 36mm was medium to large sized. Speaking of the jubilee bracelet, it was easy to size unlike my last jubilee from Vaer, which I think I need to get professionally sized."
